If you are trying to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and you get the errors below:
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a. MSI returned error code 1603
- WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a is not installed.
One fix is to:- Make sure you have .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 installed.
- Make sure you have .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1 installed.
- Uninstall any beta versions of Microsoft Silverlight, Visual Studio 2008 (VS2008), or previous beta frameworks.
- Restart IIS (Yes, restart IIS).
Now try to install .NET 3.5 SP1 again and the issue should be fixed. |
